UDI Tracker and TrackCore
Precision in every procedure
To improve patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance related to medical implants and devices, the Department of Veteran Affairs uses implant tracking systems that serve as a comprehensive safety and data tool, aligning with both clinical best practices and federal regulations.
UDI Tracker
The DSS UDI Tracker streamlined and automates complex processes associated with tracking tissues and implants for surgical cases. It tracks biological and non-biological implants, has an implant recall system and barcode scanning. Surgery and Prosthetics utilize the information within UDI Tracker for Nurse IntraOp Notes and Prosthetics Consults for re-ordering. Data is manually transferred from UDI Tracker to VistA/CPRS.
TrackCore
With DSS VistA integration expertise, the TrackCore solution tracks biological and non-biological tissue and implants in compliance with Joint Commission guidelines, has an implant recall system and barcode scanning capability. Surgery and Prosthetics utilize the information within TrackCore for nurse IntraOp Notes and Consults. Currently data is sent via flat file from VistA to TrackCore for the item file sync. This is set up to run once a day or can be run manually anytime. Data is then manually transferred from TrackCore and VistA/CPRS.
