What is VistA?

The Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) is the Department of Veterans Affairs’ groundbreaking electronic health record (EHR) system. For the past two decades, DSS has been a key partner of the VA in the development and integration of VistA extensions that streamline clinical and administrative efficiencies to enhance healthcare delivery to the country’s military veterans.

What is vxVistA?

Developed by DSS, vxVistA is an innovative open source EHR based on VistA architecture. vxVistA, a cost-effective alternative to commercial EHR technology, integrates seamlessly with a full suite of proprietary, value-added applications that support the full range of clinical, administrative and financial workflows.

We are fully engaged in the OSEHRA (Open Source Electronic Health Record Alliance) community, and provide ongoing contributions of open source (OS) code to the OS community and VA.
